Bob Gutierrez (Aka Bobby G, Bob B Badd, Bobby White Shoes)
Guitar

Bob’s musical career began at the age of six at his father’s knee. His father instilled
in him a Latin foundation and love of music. He diversified and expanded his
musical education learning classical violin. The recognitions and awards received
during his training were overshadowed by the excitement he experienced when at
age 15 he accompanied his father during a "Command Performance" in front of a
full house in the San Jose Civic Auditorium. This established his greatest passion
which is to perform live. Bob’s style is influenced by the greats. He admires BB King’
s lyrical style and phrasing, Carlos Santana’s haunting melodies, and the energetic
imagination and expression exuded by Jimi Hendrix. Born and bread in the San
Jose Area, Bob’s played with many bay area bands and musicians from Monterey to
San Francisco. These bands encompassed styles including Classical, Latin,
Salsa, Mexican Folklorico, Country Western, Jazz, R&B, Pop, and his favorite and
passion, Blues music.

About The Band
I started playing at the age of 12 when Myron Dove (Dennis's brother)
showed me the chords to a song he had written. I took it from there,
learning popular songs off the radio and my older sister's record collection.
This encompassed everything from rock to Motown. My diversification continued
when Myron came home with a new genre called "jazz-rock" which introduced
me to the sounds of Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Stanley Clarke, soon to
be followed by Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. My love of these forms of music
continues to this day, but I'm generally a pop music fan at heart. I have played in
numerous cover bands including: "The Jive hounds" a Santa Cruz based funk band,
"Cover Story" with singer/songwriter Katy Clare,"Velvet Plum" with singer/songwriter
Lara Price and an early version of "The Lara Price Blues Band" with Dennis Dove on drums
and Shane Dwight on guitar. All in all, a fun journey so far, with much more to come!

(Oliver Harris has recorded and/or played with: Rick Latham, Tony Williams,
Bernard Purdie, Zigaboo Modeliste, Rodney Franklin, Tony Lindsay, John Wedemeyer,
Kevin Gilbert, Robert Ferris, Tim Bogert, Paul Gilbert, Jimmy Degrasso, Vernon Black,
Billy Johnson, and Volker Strifler just to name a few. He plays a wide variety
of styles ranging from jazz to rock to blues to funk and loves music in general).
