About The Band

I started playing at the age of 12 when Myron Dove (Dennis's brother)
showed me the chords to a song he had written. I took it from there,
learning popular songs off the radio and my older sister's record collection.
This encompassed everything from rock to Motown. My diversification continued
when Myron came home with a new genre called "jazz-rock" which introduced
me to the sounds of Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Stanley Clarke, soon to
be followed by Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. My love of these forms of music
continues to this day, but I'm generally a pop music fan at heart. I have played in
numerous cover bands including: "The Jive hounds" a Santa Cruz based funk band,
"Cover Story" with singer/songwriter Katy Clare,"Velvet Plum" with singer/songwriter
Lara Price and an early version of "The Lara Price Blues Band" with Dennis Dove on drums
and Shane Dwight on guitar. All in all, a fun journey so far, with much more to come!
(Oliver Harris has recorded and/or played with: Rick Latham, Tony Williams,
Bernard Purdie, Zigaboo Modeliste, Rodney Franklin, Tony Lindsay, John Wedemeyer,
Kevin Gilbert, Robert Ferris, Tim Bogert, Paul Gilbert, Jimmy Degrasso, Vernon Black,
Billy Johnson, and Volker Strifler just to name a few. He plays a wide variety
of styles ranging from jazz to rock to blues to funk and loves music in general).
